Ouverture (For the entire family)
Ouverture is a comic and poetic story of life within a peculiar sort of orchestra. It is a story of joy and sorrow, of great happiness, and of violent tragedy, all of which evolve between the members.
PERFORMANCE
Where the performers come from, no-one knows. Perhaps they are family to one another, or maybe they just come from the same remote village somewhere in Europe. We don’t know, – and their characteristic accent is not immediately recognizeable.
With a duration of ca. 40 min., no set up time, and a gripping, immediate intensity, Ouverture is very suitable entertainment for parties, conferences, and civic festivals, and can also be performed in the schoolyard or gymnasium, shopping centers, and as a street performance. Or as a quite ordinary performance upon the stage.
The 9 performers in Ouverture say as little as possible, but play out the whole.

THEATRE
Batida is a touring company consisting of 11 musical actors, one technician, and a managing director.
We have our own premises in Copenhagen. Since forming in 1985, the group has developed a theatrical form in which live music, movement, and dance are vital elements.
Over a period of time, the group has acquired its own characteristic expression, alive and rich in imaginary.
Apart from playing approx. 150 shows yearly all over Denmark, Batida also tours abroad, and in recent years we have played in 30 countries. Our travels have provided artistic and personal meetings that have given us immense inspiration and energy in our work.
Batida presents performances ranging from 2 year olds to youngsters and adults.
